![]() About Us | Client List | Expertise | Marketing & Sales | Design Services Profile SSAI President Sharon Snitman Sharon Snitman is an award winning specialist in the mature housing market, with over 30 years of experience in the development, marketing and operation of retirement communities. Over the years, she has received such accolades as the Ontario non profit housing award for excellence in housing and services and the seniors secretariat award for one of the countries most innovative activity centres' at Sunnybrook H.S.C. She was also at the helm of the first housing and services organization to receive ISO accreditation. As CEO of St Pauls Centre Sharon led the development of a 91 unit Life Lease condo residence, conversion of an 80 bed nursing home to affordable housing and a redesign of 300 independent living suites to accommodate "aging in place" including the development of a health and wellness centre, a home support agency, restaurant, creative arts and music centre and specialized programs for seniors with dementia resulting in an increase of over 5000 seniors to the Centre. She developed the sales and marketing program, trained the sales staff and successfully sold out the life equity project producing a waiting list of 400 seniors for the next project. As Director of Operations for Retirement Life Communities she oversaw the marketing sales and operation of 5 retirement homes, 4 in Ontario and one in British Columbia. As an expert consultant involved in two major retirement projects in the resort areas of Haliburton and Muskoka, she has developed an innovative retirement model designed for condominium ownership coupled with the affordability of non profit services. She has taught in the Gerontology programs at Sheridan and George Brown Colleges and has consulted internationally as the Guest of the government of China to identify retirement sites and to recommend operational models for service delivery. She has also presented at the Canadian and Ontario Gerontology Associations, the American Recreation Association and the Ontario Community Support Association and developed a range of creative activities and adaptive tools to enable seniors to continue to participate fully in creative activities.
